Spontaneous play, lots of texture - and I really enjoyed the outcome. First quadtych. The woman who purchased had fun rearranging. Funny because she settled on the exact arrangement I had presented.

Favorite color is moss. And it inspires me daily and so do the rock walls surrounding my home. They inspired the weaving piece and even though not green, this watercolor too - you can see the peachy tone I picked up.

I began art by applying gesso to book pages, so I could paint on them. Then I did a lot of acrylic canvas paintings. Next watercolor where a style emerged pretty quickly. Then journals. While still early in my art practice journals were a turning point for how I create & connect with others. I learned I love to build. It is interesting to see where my practice has taken me. Journals gave way to artist’s books, which have now become architectural and are integral to my practice.

My first handmade journal. Contains many different paper types where I paint watercolor, acrylic, pastels. There are pockets to store items & space to journal. Of course twigs and a feather. This mixed media project did so much to move me forward and I’m still in love with her. I will never stop making journals. Have taught many workshops too.

This mixed media weaving project, incl. painted fabric and found items, was for a workshop, so I created my own loom since I needed multiple ones for the students. Making many looms takes patience.

One of my early works. I experimented with various papers, texture media, acrylic and ink. The gold is shimmery. It inspired me to create a similar larger one that was accepted in a show and a geologist purchased it. Perfect.

Winter, followed by fall, is my favorite season, then spring, then summer.
