Beneath My Surface - 2024

acrylic, foil, archival paper

BENEATH MY SURFACE is a study in dense materiality. I chose to include pink tint to offer that holding layers within ourselves does not mean we become hardened. By building up layers of earthen pigments and painted crumpled metallic foil, the piece mimics geological stress, forcing the viewer to confront the rich, weathered history locked within the composition.
